So it's been 20 years since Sonic the Hedgehog first came out and became the first video game I ever played. Sadly, I didn't have enough time to draw up a proper fanart piece to celebrate because I was working too hard on an entire Sonic the Hedgehog retrospective video review that you can find here - www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXlnxe…


Anime Boston was a few months ago and I did pretty damn well for myself. My "4th Wall Cowboy" print was incredibly popular, so it seems crazy-ass crossovers are the way to go when trying to draw attention. I've been working on sketches more than last year thus far and have a good pile I need to get to scanning in and coloring, plus ideas for more down the pipe.

Wow 2010 sucked for me and art. I tried my damnedest to make stuff work out, but it just bombed. Motivation was lacking this year, which is something that's got to change, and hopefully will.

We got a reboot to the Castlevania franchise which.....well, was decent but kinda disappointing. (get your shit together, Konami!) I started playing a shyte-ton more Xbox, something I'd never thought I'd do. I finally caved and got on Twitter, something I definitely thought I'd never do. (check my site for that)

I finally got word that I was accepted into the Anime Boston artist alley, so I'll be there selling some stuff and want to make some new ideas work out so everyone has stuff to buy! (and so I can cover the damned cost increases) Prints will be available and I'm hoping for maybe some shirt designs? I have one design done and am hoping for another by the time April rolls around. (if people have idea of what they'd like to see from me, let me know!)

So, here's to the end of 2010: the Year of Art Suck, and to the beginning of 2011: the Year of Not So Much Art Suck.

Oi, I have no idea why, but I hit the mother of all art blocks this year. I blame my living situation up until now for the lack of drive. I just didn't feel like doing anything other than surf. What a terrible feeling that is for an artist.

What's your worst bout of artist's block? Weeks? Months?


Hopefully, with a new change of environment (and the reclamation of my desktop and an actual desk-area with which to work at), I will regain a steady stream of musings with which to get back into gear.

Otherwise, poke the fuck out of me until I do.

First off, screw you DA for the April Fools joke. Team Belmont all the way.

Secondly, I'll be at Anime Boston again this year in the artist alley, table 151 I believe. Be sure to drop by and say hi or buy a print if interested.

The great art slump of 2010 continues. Oi.

So Toracon was a complete bust. My fault of course for only being able to stay until 3pm when the Artist Alley closed at 6pm. Goddamn work. Fortunately I have the chance to make it up at Anime Boston this year. My boy is watching over my table in the Alley until I get there tomorrow. Again, damn work...but at least this way I won't miss out on potential sales. Here's hoping.

I'm hoping to make Otakon again this year, but with the possibility of a move somewhere in the near future and a new job, I'm not sure how likely that will be. We'll see. Regardless, if I do go I'll have some stuff in the Art Show again. Last year was a big success so If I enter again, I'm hoping to be equally as successful.
